Cute sunny cafe to have a quick sanga. Crispy pork belly banh mi on tiger roll was crispy and fresh. $13 for chicken , egg and avo sandwich very tasty and great value. coffee is nice, love the flowers on the table! ( Only tip is I'd hide the John west tuna cans behind the counter , doesn't look that classy. ) Also try Sienna's tuna little chunkier.

The flavour if the bahn mi is next level. The crispy pork is succulent, and the crackle is perfectly cooked and so crunchy. The pickled carrot and diakon are great, but there is a big shortage of diakon in the mix. The coriander and chilli are great, although the chilli could have a bit more kick to it. The bread is crunchy without it being flakey and disintegrating with every bite. The biggest letdown is how underfilled the roll is. They are very light on all the topping they put into the bahn mi. The flavour profile is great, and as far as flavour goes, it's as good as anything in Melbourne, but $12 for a roll that is half full is a bit over the top.

Yummy yummy yummy. A garlicky cold cuts with no rubbery bits and some gorgeous pork jelly. A pâté that looked distinctly house-made - I’ve not tried any of their other fillings but this is the only one they put pâté in. It was stiff and clearly hard to spread. The young man serving was not generous with the precious stuff but if that is the source of the exquisite garlic flavour I’m not complaining. I’m also not complaining about the super crusty (if not a tad stale, at least dried out) tiger roll. An indication of care in preparation: he delicately cut the chilli with a pair of scissors! A good dose of Maggi sauce that bled into the dry bánh mì nicely. This was really good, people! Support Tiptop Café, just next to Elsternwick Station.
